NOAH
Modular bike rack
Design HJØRRING KOMMUNE
Our NOAH bicycle rack makes a strong, stylish feature in the urban landscape with its circular wheel holders in heavy-duty steel.
It is also a solid bicycle rack that is easy to maintain.
The circular wheel holders are made from 16mm-thick steel tubing. They are therefore more robust than thinner racks to stand up to the rigours of an urban environment, such as late-night revellers, boisterous football fans and more.
The struts are inserted into tubular sockets on the bollards, so they can easily be replaced. Once the bollards are embedded in the ground, the struts are inserted into the connectors and secured. This makes NOAH a flexible bicycle rack, with struts and wheel holders that can be replaced without any problem.
The NOAH wheel holders can be attached to struts, a wall or stand-alone SNAP bollards. They can also be set at an angle to save on depth. The standard distance of 50 cm between wheel holders ensures that handlebars do not become entangled. We can also supply NOAH with a 60 cm gap (CC600) as recommended under the DGNB sustainability certification, which is comparable to BREEAM.
The struts can be attached to a number of different bollards. If installing NOAH in a park, courtyard or similar, a standard Ø89 mm bollard may be the appropriate choice. If being installed as a barrier alongside a car park, you can use a more robust Ø114 mm bollard with space for reflective markings, e.g. in a design like LENTA 114.
The rack is available as single-sided modules with 3, 4, 5 or 6 parking spaces or double-sided modules with 6, 8 or 10 spaces.
NOAH features a very simple, geometric shape with circular wheel holders. The wheel holders are angled outward and are therefore suitable for all tyre thicknesses from racing bikes to mountain bikes. The tyre is held in two places, so that the front wheel remains steady and does not jiggle in the holder.
All racks of this type are hot-dip galvanised and therefore require no maintenance. In addition, the rack can be powder-coated, so the colour and style coordinate with the design concept of the particular business, housing association or municipality. Powder coating provides an extra layer of protection against rust. However, paintwork is likely to become worn from bicycle tyres being pushed in and out. So be aware that it may be necessary to refresh it from time to time.
The NOAH rack was developed in the 1990s as our first rack with angled wheel holders. It is also available in our NOLI bike rack model, with a half-moon-shaped holder to allow space for lights attached to wheel hubs or spokes.
NOAH can be combined with our TRIANGEL lock bracket or LOCKT lock bracket, making it easy for cyclists to lock their bike frame securely to the rack.
Our NOAH bike rack is available as a HITSA-SAFE bike rack for hostile vehicle mitigation. HITSA-SAFE offers familiar urban furniture with a Nordic look, which is certified for hostile vehicle mitigation according to PAS 68 and IWA 14.
