Design ANNE QVIST DESIGN OFFICE
OPERA is an unconventional bench that has carved out its own niche in urban settings. The characteristic design of the bench, its modern look, and the high quality of the materials used have made OPERA a popular choice for new buildings and buildings that have been modernised.
The OPERA Bench complements the stylish and simple design of urban spaces.
The best known example in Denmark can be found at Royal Danish Opera House in Copenhagen. Here, the OPERA Bench came in ahead of a wide range of other high-quality benches that were set up as a trial when the developer needed to choose urban furniture for this mammoth project. And not surprisingly, this is also where the OPERA Bench got its name.
Since then the OPERA has found its way to many other major cities in Europe, where today it can be seen enhancing seafronts and urban spaces.
The OPERA Bench was designed by Anne Qvist Design Office.
It is available with or without armrests. If you select the OPERA Bench with armrests, it will make it easier for people such as the elderly to get up from the bench again. The design of the armrest follows the bench’s design lines and the upper surface is covered in wood. The natural warmth and softness of the wood make it comfortable to rest the arm on this armrest.
The OPERA’s characteristic frame is made of hot-dip galvanised steel, and the slats are made of oil-treated FSC®-certified mahogany.
All of the steel parts in all of HITSA’s products are hot-dip galvanised, and there are a number of advantages to this: Steel itself is an extremely tough material, and when we combine it with hot-dip galvanisation, the result is a product with an exceptionally hard-wearing surface. This means that the frames of our products, including that of the OPERA Bench, repair any minor damage incurred themselves. And the bench requires only a minimum amount of maintenance. At the same time, the hot-dip galvanisation process helps extend the lifetime several times over.
The mahogany too is also durable and requires a minimum of maintenance. So when you choose the OPERA Bench, you are getting an item of urban furniture that you can look forward to having for many years to come.
With its simple, elegant design, OPERA is right at home in the urban space. No matter where you choose to place OPERA, it will add a modern look to the area, transforming the whole environment.
