FREDE is a park bench that fulfils the need for a spot to take a break from the busy modern world. It can be installed alongside paths, in parks or residential areas – all locations where you want to create outdoor areas with a variety of seating options.

FREDE is shaped like a box, screening the user from the rest of the world. Here you can take time out and sit in peace and quiet in your own little bubble. At the same time FREDE still allows the user to follow what is going on round about.

The FREDE park bench is two-sided. It features uniform mahogany cladding, forming an ordinary bench on one side and more of a lounge-inspired bench on the other. Thanks to its design, the FREDE park bench offers two comfortable seating areas, back to back.

The sides of the FREDE box bench screen users from the surrounding world, while the perforations allow light to penetrate, creating an appealing atmosphere within and a pleasant spot to sit.

FREDE has been created by design studio MOVE, known for innovative and classic designs, but always with a ‘twist’.

The FREDE box bench provides a spot for reflection

The actual box is made from 8 mm steel plate at our own facilities. The sides are available with or without perforations. You can choose to have your box with a hot-dip galvanised finish, or powder-coated in any RAL colour of your choice. Contact us to find out more about the available options.

All steel components are hot-dip galvanised. This gives FREDE a very high-quality surface finish, ensuring minimal maintenance and a long useful life.

The seating surfaces of the FREDE box bench are made from oil-treated, FSC®-certified mahogany, which is similarly maintenance-free, and a durable type of wood.

The box bench is mounted on legs made from either azobé wood or steel, which are cemented in.

Covered bench for quiet study

FREDE is a large bench that brings a distinct look to the landscape architecture. It has a modern appearance, and can be combined with items such as the shelter LOUI to create a bold and exciting outdoor environment. FREDE is a reader-friendly bench that can be used as a spot for studying.
