The COMFORT Park Bench sends a clear signal to passers-by: Take a break. You’ll be comfortable here. And enjoy the peaceful surroundings or the pulsating city life.
The COMFORT Park Bench is the classic bench for urban spaces and parks. As its name implies, this bench is all about comfort. The slats and ergonomic design of the seat and back provide the user with plenty of support and it is extremely comfortable to sit on.
The COMFORT Park Bench is available with or without a backrest. If you do choose the model with armrests for your urban space, this would benefit groups such as the elderly who would find it easier to get up from the bench again.
The COMFORT Park Bench has been a part of the HITSA range for more than 25 years. Since the very beginning, the COMFORT Park Bench has been a popular choice and, today, it provides comfortable, elegant seating in both Danish and international urban spaces. Along seafronts and in town squares.
The idea for the COMFORT Park Bench originated in connection with a construction exhibition in 1988, where we decided to develop a design in collaboration with Ginman Harboe Borup Landscape Architects.
COMFORT was just the start of a large number of projects in which we worked together with designers and architects and, since then, the HITSA range has expanded to include many designer products of high quality.
The COMFORT Park Bench was relaunched in 2014, when we optimised both the product and the price. The basic design is the same as it was back then, but we have given the bench a facelift and simplified it to give it a more modern, contemporary and timeless look.
The COMFORT Park Bench was designed in Denmark and is made of good strong materials. The frame is solid and quite sturdy, and we have also focussed more on improving the details in the production of the COMFORT Park Bench: The slats are screwed on from the reverse side, so the appearance of the front of the bench is smooth and clean, enhancing the attractive design.
The frame is made of hot-dip galvanised steel. If you do not wish to have the bench supplied with its natural, galvanised finish, you can choose to have the frame powder-coated in your choice of RAL colours. The steel frame is always made of hot-dip galvanised steel, even if you choose the powder-coated version.
Hot-dip galvanising has several advantages: Steel is an extremely tough material and hot-dip galvanisation ensures a highly durable surface that repairs any minor damage itself. In addition, hot-dip galvanised steel requires no maintenance and lasts much longer.
The seat and back are covered with oil-treated or untreated FSC®-certified mahogany.
