SVC4 Bicycle Bollard

Design JULIE KIERKEGAARD

The SVC4 bicycle bollard uses rectangular steel, giving a unique look to an urban space with several bollards lined up in a row. The bollard features a strikingly simple design, with a strip of hot-dip galvanised steel forming a basic shape.

SVC4 is a bicycle stand ideally suited to complement distinctive buildings, where you also want a stylish look for your bicycle parking facility. It has been installed in front of the National Gallery of Denmark (SMK) in Copenhagen, among other locations.

The bollard can also be used to mark boundaries between areas. Since they are installed individually, this allows great freedom, and the configuration can follow a curve or a line in the landscape. SVC4 provides a distinctive look, both with and without a parked bike.

The bollard has been designed in partnership with landscape architect Julie Kierkegaard. We have a fire route bollard (SV4) available in the same, simple rectangular design. This is available as a stationary or tilting version.

Parking for cargo bikes

Like our other bicycle bollards, SVC4 can also be used for parking cargo bikes. In this case the bollards should be installed at least 1.30 m apart. This allows space for the cargo bikes to be wheeled between the bollards and locked securely with a chain through the bollard.

For ordinary bikes, SVC4 can be installed with a centre-to-centre distance of 60 cm.

SVC4 requires a depth of 1.10 m. Cyclists can park from both sides, and two cyclists can use a single stand.

Bicycle stand for cobblestones and paving stones

This simple bicycle stand is made from hot-dip galvanised steel and can be powder-coated in any RAL colour. The combination of hot-dip galvanising and powder coating provides two layers of protection against rust and weather, ensuring a very long useful life for your bicycle bollard.

SVC4 can be installed in three different ways, making it suitable for a variety of surfaces and types of paving.

It can be cemented in, with the sides of the rectangle continuing down into the ground. This method is ideal for tarmac or gravel.

SVC4 can also be installed as removable on a base plate for cementing in, so the entire rectangle sits above ground. This is suited to locations with paving stones, for example.

And lastly, it can be bolted to the ground.
