Since 2012 the City of Stockholm has been conducting a large-scale project to renovate the waterproofing layer and strengthen the structure of Sergels Torg and several surrounding streets.
In connection with this project, they also wanted to develop a range of furniture that would signify the focus on quality, aesthetics and design in the city centre. In 2015, discussions were initiated with architects DinellJohansson and Veksø with a view to realising this ambition.
Adam Lind from DinellJohansson, in close collaboration with Veksø’s design team, came up with a range of six different items of furniture to be delivered in the city’s colour (RAL 7022) and using Kebony. This range is now to be made available to the whole market.
The KLARA VÄSTRA sofa and bench are now in place, providing somewhere to rest and take a break in Klara Västra Kyrkogata, and more furniture from the range is due to be installed as the new district is completed. The project is due to be completed in 2018.
