Platform equipment for Skånetrafiken

HITSA is supplying shelters and equipment for Skånetrafiken’s station platforms. Shelters with Skånetrafiken’s distinctive arrow design are being provided along with benches, litter bins and bicycle parking.

Skånetrafiken aims to deliver a very high-quality travel experience. Anders Servin, project manager at Skånetrafiken, says:

“Stops and waiting areas form part of Skånetrafiken’s interaction with customers. They should feel safe, secure and welcome. The shelters are equipped with heating, wifi and digital information provision. They are fully enclosed for optimum protection. The sides are made of glass to ensure good visibility, and the two entrances make it easy to come and go. Information screens are positioned to ensure wheelchair users have easy access to information.”

Station platforms have particularly demanding safety requirements, so shelters must be able to withstand pressure and suction from passing trains. The shelter is type-approved by the Swedish Transport Administration for installation at all train stations in Sweden.

Multi-year framework agreement for 250,000 passengers

SWECO has designed the shelters and equipment with a focus on comfort, safety and accessibility. HITSA has been involved from the outset, including planning the design.

“Right from the off, we have been completely satisfied with our collaboration with HITSA. They listen, provide prompt feedback and can make quick decisions. HITSA is very solution-oriented. There is a mindset and culture of ‘we’ll find a solution’,” says Anders.

The equipment for train stations is part of a multi-year framework agreement between Skånetrafiken and HITSA, which also includes shelters for bus and tram stops. HITSA will cover all stages of the process – from design and construction to production, installation and further development. Skånetrafiken is a regional transport company, serving 250,000 passengers on a daily basis.
