FLOW provides social seating for outdoor spaces. Its circular shape brings people together, while its playful rocking function sparks conversation.
FLOW is suitable for a variety of age groups and can be used in countless settings. It can tempt students outdoors during break time or be used for group work. It is also ideal for the whole family as part of an outing to the park. FLOW brings people together, while adding a playful touch. As a result, FLOW can help turn urban spaces, parks and communal outdoor areas into inspiring and inclusive spaces with a sense of togetherness. You are sure to get to know one another a little better as you rock together in FLOW.
The bench serves as an attractive feature in the landscape with its circular shape and undulating backrest, encircling a seating surface of slim, smooth wooden slats. The choice of materials and well-thought-out design deliver a bench that exudes quality and durability.
FLOW can seat 4-6 young people or adults. It has a circular seating surface of wooden slats and a backrest of painted steel. It forms a kind of sociable seating bowl, where you can sit or lie comfortably. The rocking function is incorporated into the bench frame.
The seat is FSC®-certified mahogany. The backrest is powder coated after hot-dip galvanising. We can apply a powder coating in any RAL colour, so you can easily choose a colour to coordinate with your project.
The rocking function is gentle and pleasing. You can jump in and out of FLOW without it tilting too far, and you can ‘step in’ by simply swinging your leg over the backrest. If you want to try out FLOW, please contact our team.
FLOW can be embedded in concrete, or is available as a free-standing version. It can be used for events, festivals and conventions, for example, and then moved again once the event is over. A large base plate ensures that the free-standing FLOW model is stable.
FLOW is a product designed with both social and environmental sustainability in mind. The choice of materials ensures a very long useful life outdoors. FLOW has been designed to facilitate disassembly, so components can be repaired separately, and sorted into fractions once FLOW reaches the end of its useful life.
FLOW has been designed by Anne Malmmose and was developed in collaboration with HITSA. Find out more about the ideas behind the design here.
